Yes — a role can be archived. This is done in the "Edit" mode of "Company Structure" and saved with the "Save" button.

What happens when a role is archived:

• the system asks which role should receive its resources (by default, the managing role above): tasks, files, instructions, improvements, income and expense items from the current month; inventory goes to "Free" in "Company Inventory";
• the person in the role is removed and notified;
• subordinate roles move to the manager of the archived role.

An archived role can be restored, but it will come back empty: the handed-over resources stay with the role that received them. An archived role can also be removed with "Delete permanently" — it can still be restored for 48 hours.
